Ponytail Palm (Beaucarnea recurvata) combines a swollen, water-storing stem with a fountain of narrow leaves. Despite its name, it is not a true palm. Choose it for a bright indoor position when you prefer a plant that dries between waterings.

Care and placement
- Light: A sunny window or other bright position. Introduce stronger outdoor sun gradually, and protect from frost and cold, wet conditions.
- Water: Allow the potting mix to dry out, then water and drain. A freely draining succulent-style mix is useful; water less while growth is slow.
- Care: Do not leave water sitting in a saucer or decorative outer pot. The listed pot sizes describe the container, not a guaranteed trunk or plant height.
